Best of Neocon 2022 – Part 2

In part 2 of our article, we decided to showcase some of the beautiful seating and fabrics spotted at Neocon, in addition to an amazing pod we couldn’t help but feature. A common theme you’ll see a playfulness and lightness with the design, a reference to the flexibility and resimercial focused designs we mentioned in the previous edition.

Boss Design’s beautiful Amelia chair won the gold award in the Seating: Sofas & Lounge category at NeoCon 2022, and for good reason too. Intelligently honed to perfection, Amelia’s form works in harmony with several other pieces in our portfolio easily migrating from formal to informal settings. Amelia is a light and modern take on the classic wingback lounge chair that softens the lines between office, hospitality and home settings, elegantly alighting wherever you choose.

Kvadrat’s new nature-inspired knitted upholstery textile was spotted at a pop-up at Neocon, showcasing its beautiful knitted upholstery which recreates complex natural forms, structures, surfaces, and colours found deep in the wild. It is part of a design project entitled Design by Nature led by Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren from the Swedish design studio Front.

A collection of five textiles by Suzanne Tick, this Luum collection draws inspiration from the ever-expanding universe — intersecting the matrices of time, matter, and energy to weave the world around us. Using new techniques, these textiles embody the vivid colours and patterns of the stars, the vibrational qualities of sound and light, and the geological layers of Earth. Renewable and recycled fibres, paired with cutting-edge weaving and coating techniques, produce multi-layered materiality for any contemporary interior.

Designed by Philippe Starck, the Solo Chair earned a Metropolis LIKES at the NeoCon 2022. Defined by character, closeness and functionality, this collection consists of chair and armchair versions in two different widths. Solo Chair is easily one of the best examples of the intelligent alliance between crafts, technology and ergonomics. Solo Chair expresses naturalness and closeness and it is built from a light and softly rounded structure that support the seat and the back, transmitting lightness and dynamism.

Framery’s 2Q features a superior sound insulation system that ensures that your meetings won’t disturb the rest of your team and vice versa. The superb sound insulation ensures you and your team total sound privacy and the adjustable airflow creates a pleasant atmosphere to work in. The 2Q Lounge variation provides a more casual environment for company meetings, a calm space to retreat to during the work day, or an area for socialization.

A product of a collaboration with German designer Sebastian Herkner, the Blume collection is characterized by a soft and rounded shape, owes their distinctive appearance to its sophisticated flower-shaped profile in extruded aluminium. It also comes with tables! Drawing inspiration from the concepts of elegance and sophistication, the Blume coffee tables feature the seating’s flower-shaped profile, which protrudes visibly beyond the perimeter of the top.
