Downtown Design 2019: Brands, Happenings and More…

Downtown Design, the region’s leading design fair, is now open for registration. And while we cannot wait for this creative extravaganza to unfold, we thought to give you a little teaser of what to expect.

Downtown Design 2019 takes place from November 12 to 15 in Dubai Design District (d3)

To keep the fair fresh and relevant, each year Downtown Design invites experts from the A+D industry to collaborate on the masterplan. This year, Wilson Associates are developing the concept, alongside XBD Collective and Swiss Bureau Interior Design, who will design the key public areas. We cannot wait to see the outcome of this collaboration.

“There is a sense of curiosity – from the perspective of international brands looking to break into the region, and also from the region’s architects and interior designers looking for progressive, innovative solutions,” says Isabel Pintado, Managing Director and Wilson Associates. “We intend to design an atmosphere that builds on that sense of exploration and discovery that drives the Middle East’s design community.”

Key Brands

Downtown Design has always been the design afficionado’s go to fair for creative inspiration. This year, we can look forward to the old faithfuls plus a fair number of new entrants that we are quite excited about.

Preciosa never fails to amaze each year with one stunning installation after another. At Downtown Design, they will be bringing their awe inspiring Carousel of Light, which launched in Milan earlier this year.

Other returning brands include Atelier Swarovski, Kettal, Arper, Brokis, Illulian, Saint Louis, Hands, USM, Lladró, Serip, and more. USM, infact, will be bringing its lifestyle concept to the Middle East for the first time. Amongst the new entrants are some fabulous names, such as Minacciolo, Skram, Pedrali, Vicalvi, Moser, Nanimarquina, Tacchini and Brand Konnect.
