Ege Carpets Now On Love That Design

Ege Carpets have been creating beautifully woven creations for decades, but what makes them different is their dedication to working towards a sustainable future for all of us. We are proud to welcome this ultra green brand on Love That Design.

“At Ege we always say that you can buy a carpet in any colour, but it will always be green, because that’s how we produce the products,” says Michael Boegsted, Regional Manager, Ege, Middle East & Africa.

With a strong Danish heritage and a global reach, Ege aim to be the trendsetting supplier to the most demanding sectors of the market. By enabling freedom and flexibility in design, every carpet becomes an opportunity to increase life quality and enhance beauty.

About Ege Carpets

“In 2020, we became the first carpet manufacturer to receive the Cradle to Cradle certification for all our products. We don’t give it as a choice any more to our clients. If you buy a carpet from Ege, it’s Cradle to Cradle certified by default”

– Michael Boegsted, Regional Manager, Middle East & Africa

The birth and the journey

It all started in Denmark in 1938, with the entrepreneurial spirit of Ege’s founder, Mads Eg Damgaard who used only the latest and most advanced technology in carpet production, and he was not afraid to challenge convention. That philosophy still survives and forms the backbone of the brand.

Today, Ege Carpets is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of textile flooring. At the core of the brand’s DNA is a pioneering spirit, a human approach, and the willingness to always walk the extra mile. They follow three fundamental virtues: creating beautiful aesthetics, constantly striving for the best quality, and always always respecting the planet, its resources and its future.

Creativity and a strong green ethic

They have introduced carpet collections with some of the greatest designers, such as Tom Dixon and Monsieur Christian Lacroix. With the brand’s strong leaning towards creativity, beauty and aesthetics, the Ege design team works closely with designers around the world to create carpets that are pieces of art.

“We established our Dubai base in 2007 and have since  built an impressive reference list of installations both in hospitality and commercial,” says Michael. “In 2020, we became the first carpet manufacturer to receive the Cradle to Cradle certification for all our products. We don’t give it as a choice any more to our clients. If you buy a carpet from Ege, it’s Cradle to Cradle certified by default.”
