A German, family run business, KALDEWEI has been devoted to steel enamel products for over 100 years and four generations. Their extensive range of luxstainable bathtubs, shower surfaces and washbasins is ideally suited to the demands of the hospitality and residential industry, delivering an increased level of health and wellbeing awareness.

“Sustainability is firmly established in the DNA of our company. With full conviction, each day we optimize our production and supply chain with regard to material and energy consumption.”

– Franz Kaldewei, CEO, KALDEWEI

Luxstainable Solutions

The brand proudly claims to have over 150 awards to date, winning the title, ‘Brand of the Century’. Now, with its luxstainable bathroom solutions, KALDEWEI also represents both innovation and elegance more so than any other company in the industry. The secret of its success: from an early stage KALDEWEI made design one of the cornerstones of its corporate philosophy when manufacturing bathtubs, shower surfaces and washbasins. In addition to product development at its own Design Center, KALDEWEI has been collaborating with illustrious design teams, such as Sottsass Associati, Phoenix Design and Studio Aisslinger, plus designers Arik Levy and Anke Salomon. This has led to the creation of a multifaceted range, in terms of material, functionality and design.

Luxury and sustainability go hand in hand

For over 100 years, this family company has been using natural raw materials, transforming them into long-lasting and recyclable bathroom products made of steel enamel. KALDEWEI’s smooth, non-porous glass surface not only offers security against germs and dirt but also stands as the material of the future. The steel enamel is made of 100 percent natural materials and when it comes to the end of its long useful life, it can be completely recycled.

The brand is also a long term partner of the WWF marine conservation programme that is devoted to reducing plastic waste in our oceans. Furthermore, KALDEWEI is a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and International Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). As an industry pioneer with regard to promoting sustainable building, KALDEWEI was the first bathroom manufacturer to offer an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) issued by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU) for its products.

Continuing this leadership, it is the first company in the sanitary industry to sign the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). By doing so, KALDEWEI is joining an initiative that has set itself the task of achieving the goals of the Paris climate protection agreement by defining specific measures.

“This is an important step towards sustainable production that recognises the planetary limits and has no alternative,: says Franz Kaldewei, CEO of KALDEWEI. “In addition to our commitment to the pollution of the world’s oceans, the reduction of CO2 emissions will be an important driving force for innovation in the company.”

All these actions lead KALDEWEI to receive the best possible rating in the Leader Level of the Marriott Sustainability Assessment Program (MSAP) from Marriott International Inc.

In the near future

KALDEWEI is ready to unveil its latest product, the SUPERPLAN ZERO, which has the potential to be the new blockbuster in the bathroom world.
