Pedrali, Now On Love That Design

Italian brand Pedrali is synonymous with stunning design and impeccably styled products. We are proud to welcome them on board Love That Design!

Established in 1963, Pedrali is known for their contemporary designed furniture for contract and residential. With one leg in the past with their traditional Italian manufacturing, and one in the future with their innovation and design approach, Pedrali’s unique methods and techniques have made them an unforgettable brand. One of the key things that define their core values is the authentic Italian manufacturing process, which involves scrupulous sourcing of certified raw materials, coupled with research and true passion for cutting-edge machinery. Pedrali thus marries both these elements to create timeless pieces.

We met with Monica Pedrali at Downtown Design 2019. Monica is CEO of the company, along with her brother Giuseppe, and she represents the second generation owners of this famous, family-owned business. One of the key things she talked about was Pedrali’s heritage and the meaningfulness of its location. Founded by her father Mario, the company draws from Milan’s stunning design aspirations and talent, following a ‘100 percent, Made in Italy’ production philosophy. However, they have penetrated into the international market through a distribution network that reaches over 100 countries.

“The three things that make Pedrali products unique are Beauty, Tradition and Innovation”

“The three things that make Pedrali products unique are Beauty, Tradition and Innovation,” says Monica.

The company has been conducting business in the Middle East and Africa region for almost 25 years, and one of its most popular products here is the Ester Chair. Despite their evident success, they are constantly looking into ways to make sure that their products remain sustainable.

“Since our entire manufacturing unit is retained in house, we are able to control wastage and ensure sustainability is followed throughout the process, from raw materials all the way to the finished product,” says Monica.

“Pedrali is really a mix between tradition and innovation,” Monica explains. “As a second generation family owned business, we maintain the traditional Italian manufacturing, while investing in R&D to further quality.”

Pedrali has been catering to various projects, from high end corporate designs to schools, starred restaurants, hotels, offices and co-working spaces. The brand is able to do this via their commitment to making sure that innovation is always at the forefront of their design. The brand’s heavy involvement in the R&D sector, and their use of technologies, such as nanotechnology and augmented reality, has helped the company to create a wide range of products suited to specific needs.

Their ability to customise heavily allows them to stand out from the milieu. Although products are manufactured on a large scale, there is always the flexibility to choose fabrics, textures, etc. In this way, they are able to accommodate a wide range of design aesthetics.

Their production processes are aimed at limiting consumption and avoiding waste that would damage the ecosystem. Even their plastic products are made from very high quality raw materials, and are recyclable and eco-compatible.Furthermore, in 2017, Pedrali took a further step by moving towards plant derived, water based paints that allow for a substantial decrease in VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).

With tremendous success in the region, the company hopes to communicate their latest technologies and products to the A+D community via LTD. And as always, we are proud to have them on board Love That Design.
