Overview

Bespoke and sartorial, Vanir is a felted woolen textile inspired by historical woolen military coats and created through an exacting technique that makes a dense yet soft felt with dissolved but distinct speckles of color from the bouclé yarn. The shorn surface is smooth and plush, lending a dignified elegance to upholstery. Vanir is an evolution of Raf Simons’ fascination with translating the subtle coloration and texture of a classic fashion textile into a fabric suitable for furniture. Simons intentionally kept the palette restrained to earthy base tones reminiscent of a classic tweed, pairing them with fresh colours in unexpected combinations. The density of the fabric and dissolved highlights give added depth to classic neutrals in charcoal, dark brown, stone and natural wool.
