Overview

The designer and architect Verner Panton (1926-1998) created Panthella together with Louis Poulsen in 1971. Panton’s figurative and playful design radiates his larger than life personality. Without compromising on quality or functionality, the world-renowned Dane continued to develop new materials for the colourful and captivating spaces that he created out of his enticing designs. Panthella stands out as one of Panton’s most significant design icons with its organic shape that mirrors the softest of light. Panton intended to create a light where both the stand and the shade served as a reflector, combining it with the organic shapes characteristic of the Danish designer. With its non-glaring light, Panthella serves as a beautiful example of Verner Panton’s brilliant sense of creating atmospheric illumination. The Panthella MINI lamp is a downscaled edition of Verner Panton’s popular Panthella Table lamp. Panthella MINI features a metal shade available in Brass Metallised, High-lustre Chrome, Black, White and Orange. The Panthella MINI’s vibrant orange is based on Panton’s very last exhibition in 1998, called ‘Light and Colour’ at the Trapholt Museum of Modern Art in Kolding, Denmark. In 2022, the range is extended with three new colours, perfect for modern interiors, namely: Pale Rose, Pale Blue and Coral. Panthella MINI is also available with a white opal acrylic shade and white trumpet-shaped stem, or with a grey opal acrylic shade and high-lustre chrome trumpet as in Panton’s original finishes for the larger Panthella designs from 1971. The translucent opal shades diffuse the light to produce soft and appealing illumination of the surroundings. With its non-glaring light, the Panthella MINI serves as a beautiful example of Verner Panton’s brilliant ability to create atmospheric illumination. The smaller format, with a compact 250 mm diameter and 335 mm height, makes for easy placement on windowsills, shelves, tables or other limited surfaces. Regardless of the material, colour and size, floor or table, Panthella continues to lift interiors with a cheerful dash and smooth curves, being it in the privacy of a home, a workplace, a public exhibition, a hotel or a cocktail bar.
