Inspired by the Japanese washi technique, the collection works on the concept of stratification by layering natural elements, or subtle patterns, like weightless gauzes. Interactions of light and shadows, projections and transparencies of leaves and flowers hover over the surface, proposing a holistic approach to home decor in line with the principles of biophilic design, inviting people to rediscover their affinity with the natural world.

GlamPure is a wallcovering with an ecological soul. The organic fibres make it a sustainable solution with a small environmental impact, ideal to arouse a sense of warmth and comfort to any environments. Glamora’s creative director, Fabrizio Rondini, tells the “behind the scenes” of the birth of this material. How did the GlamPure concept come about? It arises from the awareness of a personal and social need certainly highlighted by this historical moment. We live most of our time enclosed within the walls of buildings; this has led us to move further away from nature and to miss it. We feel more and more strongly an inner drive to live a more natural dimension and to have more harmonious biological rhythms. The idea behind GlamPure is that true luxury means nowadays to recover the essence of our daily life, our gestures, the objects that surround us, our time and the relationship with the natural ecosystem that welcomes us. We are looking for an authentic sensorial experience that encompass the touch, the visual impact and the general feeling of well-being that arises from it. After a long period of study and research of a natural material that could meet the principles of biophilia, eco-compatibility and quality, we have developed GlamPure.

How does this new product fit into Glamora’s offer and vision?
Glamora has always researched and proposed its aesthetic philosophy through collections that interpret a concept of harmony between craftsmanship and technology. GlamPure responds to the demand of an emerging public who seeks sustainable design proposals characterized by high aesthetic and quality parameters.

In what kind of contexts do you imagine GlamPure? What is the ideal environment to emphasize its aesthetic and functional qualities?
Thanks to the properties of linen, the main component of GlamPure, the wallcovering lends itself to many indoor environments: it is in fact heat-insulating and hygroscopic. It allows to create very welcoming atmospheres in both residential and hospitality contexts designed through healthier, ecological, organic materials and with greater attention to volatile emissions. It’s the perfect wallcovering for solutions that include nature as a construction and coating element in order to reset the lost balance between human beings, daily life spaces and nature.

How does Glamora deal with the issue of sustainability within the logistics and production processes?
GlamPure is the first step towards a greater attention to sustainability and environmental protection by Glamora, either on a logistic, production and communication point of view. By opting for low environmental impact solutions such as digital communication or the exclusive use of recycled materials for packaging and offline promotion materials, Glamora starts a path of corporate responsibility in safeguarding the environment.

What were the sources of inspiration for this first collection’s subjects? How were they interpreted into Glamora aesthetics?
The Eastern aesthetic vision has a welcoming attitude towards the imperfection present in nature, which has always fascinated me. In particular, washi, the traditional Japanese manual paper-making technique, inspired the concept of transparencies, overlapping natural fibers and light textiles that naturally accompany and enhance the heterogeneous texture of GlamPure. From the close dialogue between the impressed subjects and the linen, a strongly connoted collection comes to life and leads instinctively to recognize and immerse yourself in an aesthetic paradigm of profound well-being.
