On March 1, 1988, Bastiaan Mantel registered with the Chamber of Commerce under the name “Datastand” and the first step was taken in the history of Databouw.
Enthusiastic and full of youthful hubris, he set to work with a team of people to establish the name Datastand in the stand construction market. With the idea of “just making beautiful things” they worked hard. However, the stand construction did not prove to be the perfect solution and the choice was made for the interior construction. The official name became longer “Datastand ho Databouw” and the call sign became shorter, simply Databouw.
The enthusiasm remained and the choice for interior construction turned out to be a good direction to showcase the ideas and skills. Over the years, Databouw has grown out of its housing several times and ended up at its current location in Purmerend via Zaandam, Halfweg and Edam.
