The WiN Dubai network has once again brought together a panel of experts to look at the important topic of water as a special resource. What does water mean to the UAE, and how is the manufacturing, design and building industry looking at this precious resource? What does this mean now and in the future?

Join us for the second edition of our WiN water initiative where we focus on topics of water conservation 

 

Hosted by: Christopher Champlin, Regional Vice-President, Middle East & Africa, Shaw Contract
Christopher is a graduate from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga with a BA in Biology, with more than 20 years of experience in the global flooring industry. Since 2011 he has led Shaw Contract business operations in the Middle East and Africa. During this time he has been involved with a range of environmentally-accredited project installations throughout the GCC.

Moderated by: Lena Marcuccilli, Head of Content, Love That Design
Lena is a seasoned editor/writer with over two decades of content management and publishing experience (both print and digital). She is also an expert moderator and has brought together many high profile names in the A&D industry with poignant, meaningful roundtables and interviews. She currently heads the content for the digital A&D publishing platform, Love That Design.

Meet Our Expert Panel: 

Katherine Bruce
Senior Sustainability Consultant, MEng (Chem.), MPhil, WELL AP, AESG
Katherine is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at AESG. She holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge in Engineering for Sustainable Development and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University UK. Katherine specializes in strategic sustainability advisory, green buildings and health & wellbeing.

Hilda Impey
Design Director, Principal, Wilson Associates
Hilda’s passion for interiors, deep knowledge of textiles, and interest in trend forecasting brings a unique approach to her design style. Hilda works across all projects in Wilson Associates’ Dubai studio, interpreting the project requirements to create a holistic, integrated, and timeless interior. A perseverant advocate for sustainable design solutions, she feels accountable for the impact her work has on the environment due to the ability designers have to positively contribute to our fragile ecosystem.

Sultan Abdulla Al Zaabi
Senior Manager, Demand Management and Tariff, DEWA
Engineer Sultan Al Zaabi has more than 10 years experience in Sustainability and Energy & Water Conservation programs. He has contributed to a number of major environmental projects eg: Dubai Green Building regulations, UAE DSM strategy 2040, UAE Energy Labeling program, Dubai Demand Side Management strategy 2030.

Rodolfo Perez 
Director of Standard Development, PhD, WELL Faculty, IWBI
Rodolfo leads the development of the Water and Materials concepts in the WELL Building Standard. Rodolfo holds an MS and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a graduate of the Catholic University of Chile in Chemical and Industrial engineering and has over 15 years of combined experience in research and public health.
