“The Instant City”, by Cristina Mateo, Associate Dean in IE School of Architecture and Design, is a Master Class about how Covid19 accelerated change and impacted our daily life, in the natural, the digital and the built environment.
In addition, she tackles the fact that now more than ever, organizations need people that are aware of such an impact, designers that think strategically and non-designers that think spatially.
THE SPEAKER
Cristina Mateo is a specialist in urban ethnography, place branding, and digital transformation, and teaches “Sociology and Culture” and the social impact of Digital Transformation at Bachelor and Masters´ level.
Cristina Mateo holds a PhD in Sociology from Goldsmiths College at the University of London, the world’s leading sociology department where she did her thesis on the role of ethnic identity in the global city.
She also completed her Executive MBA at IE University, and as a trained journalist, she writes regularly on the topics of cultural consumption and the impact of technology in urban life.
