Herman Miller Living Office Awards – Terms & Conditions of entry

  1. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these conditions of entry.
  2. Entry is open to design firms in Middle East and Africa (maximum 2 entries per firm). Directors, management and employees of the Promoter and agencies, retailers, dealers, contractors and suppliers associated with this promotion and the immediate family members of the related parties as mentioned above are ineligible to enter.
  3. Entrants must also warrant that their entry does not in any way infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any other person or company.
  4. The competition runs from 13th Nov 2018 to 5th March 2018 Abu Dhabi, Muscat time.
  5. The completed form must then be submitted during the Promotional Period. No responsibility accepted for late, lost, misdirected or illegible/inaudible entries. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. Entries must be the entrant’s original work.
  6. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter may use, and may disclose in any publication, newspaper, advertisement, media statement or other general and promotional material, any materials entrants provide in relation to the competition for the Promoter’s promotional and business purposes. Entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
  7. All valid entries will be judged by representatives of the Promoter based upon, among other things, creative merit. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. Winners will be notified via email within 15 working days.
  8. The Promoter will select the top ten projects from across the region and display on The Promoter Middle East and Africa Social media page.  Winners will be judged by a Panel of esteemed international judges. The Promoter will have deciding vote over the winning entry.
  9. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If a prize, or element of a prize, is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another prize of equal or greater value for that prize, or element of it, subject to the approval of any relevant authority.
  10. In the event of the prize not being accepted or claimed within 30 days of notification, the relevant winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and the Promoter reserves the right to distribute the prize to the next best valid entry that has not already received a prize.
  11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning of the prizes. Independent financial advice should be sought.
  12. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this competition. If the competition is not capable of being conducted due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control, including due to any technical or communications problems, the Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition subject to approval from any relevant authority.
  13. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify all entries from any entrant who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process or the competition.
  14. All entries have to respect the social media moderating policy of Herman Miller Limited:
  15. a) Refrain from using any racist, sexist, aggressive or defamatory language on this site. b) Respect copyright by linking back to this site if you would like to share any of our contents. c) Refrain from posting links that inappropriately advertise or are not within the context of the conversation. The winning entry will be chosen by the Promoter based on the written criteria.
  16. The Promoter and its agencies and companies associated with this promotion will not be liable for any loss (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss), damage or personal injury which is suffered or sustained (including without limitation to that caused by any person’s negligence) relating to this competition or the awarding or taking of the prizes except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case liability is limited to the minimum amount allowable by law).
  17. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
  18. The Promoter may use any personal information entrants provide in connection with this competition for the purpose of running the competition, and also in advertisements, publications, media statements and other promotional material associated with the competition. The Promoter may disclose the information for those purposes to its related bodies corporate and contractors, and to Herman Miller dealers. If entrants do not provide the information requested they will not be able to enter the competition. Unless the entrant has ticked the “opt-out” box on the entry form, the Promoter may also use personal information entrants provide to send information about Herman Miller products and services (including via electronic means), and may disclose the information to Herman Miller dealers, to its related bodies corporate, agencies and contractors (including call centres, advertising agencies and direct mail houses) the Promoter engages for that purpose. To request access to, or to update, personal information the Promoter holds about them, entrants can contact the office of the Promoter (an administrative fee may be imposed to access personal information).

  20. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administrated by, or associated with, Facebook. You are providing your information to Herman Miller Middle East and Africa and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for marketing purposes and to contact the eventual winner.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions contained herein at any time without prior notice and reject entries from entrants not entering into the spirit of this competition.
