Andreu World Furnishes the Spanish Pavilion at World Exposition Dubai with Sustainable Design

Andreu World will furnish the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 with its products, becoming one of the Spanish presence’s main sponsors at the Universal Exhibition. For that purpose, Andreu World has designed a proposal that fits perfectly with the spirit of the Expo, as it includes sustainable design furniture for the different areas of the venue made from 100% FSC-certified wood sourced from reforested forests and carrying the Chain-of-Custody from the tree to the final product.

The seats and tables selected for the Pavilion have been developed “from circular, resistant, durable and environmentally friendly materials, which minimize the ecological footprint.” The brand will also have a special mention within The Forest of Intelligence subject area where it will present its production processes.

As a pioneering Spanish brand in sustainability and design, Andreu World has been involved with its presence and action in furnishing the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Dubai, a global forum for collective reflection on a future more committed to the environment.

“Combining know-how and technology, we have industrialized craftsmanship in complete harmony with the atmosphere and the environment. Bringing all this know-how to an international forum such as the Expo highlights the value of our products at an international level and also talks about the industrial culture and quality of our country in the world”.

World Exposition Dubai – will be held October 1st, 2021, to March 31st, 2022 – is themed Connecting Minds, Creating the Future. Spain will have its own Pavilion, managed by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), the public company responsible for Spain’s presence at World and International Expositions, measuring about 5,800 square meters and aims to receive approximately 2.5 million visitors over 172 days. The Spanish Pavilion’s interior, whose architectural project was entrusted to the Amann Cánovas-Maruri studio (Temperaturas Extremas Arquitectos S.L.P.), will feature Andreu World designs, the company responsible for furnishing the venue’s different spaces.

For this, it has worked with the Acción Cultrual Española team and Amman-Canovas-Maruri studio “to be able to customize the furniture by means of different finishes and sizes, allowing it to adapt to each one of the Pavilion’s areas’ different areas.

The furniture has been created by internationally renowned international designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Jasper Morrison, Alfredo Häberli, Benjamin Hubert, PearsonLLoyd, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, and Lievore Altherr Molina. Spain’s Pavilion, located in the Expo district dedicated to sustainability, will be structured by generating a space to showcase the talent, innovation and dynamism of our country, together with the strength of our culture, tradition and quality of life as sustainable elements to support future generations. This proposal will be reflected in a spectacular building, which stands out for its iconic strength, its circular economy criteria, and a design based on the idea of total recycling of its materials.

Within this building, Andreu World furniture will run throughout the different spaces and common areas with varying types of furniture, including seats, sofas, lounge chairs, and modular systems (small seat) for corporate spaces and collective areas; sofas, lounge chairs, and modular systems for waiting areas or lobbies, as well as meeting and auxiliary tables.
