iGuzzini and AUD collaborates in Light for Future Competition

Light for Future, a lighting competition catered to the Interior Design Students was held at the American University in Dubai (AUD)

The event was made as a collaboration of iGuzzini Middle East team and Professor Annamaria Lambri, Architect and Professor of Interior Design at the American University of Dubai. The project was further developed in the professor’s AUD Smart Design studio.

A workshop for the students was conducted in class with the iGuzzini Middle East team, and some critique sessions checking the progress of the work was also done with Sergio Padula, Technical Director of iGuzzini Middle East and Siddharth Mathur, Lighting Designer and Founding Partner of Studio Lumen, as part of the Jury.

The final results and event was held on the 24th of April at the American University of Dubai campus where the jury decided the winners and handed over their certificates.

iGuzzini is planning to continue the projects as part of the Global iGuzzini Competition and to showcase the winner of the competition during the upcoming Dubai Design Week with a small event and public installation organized in collaboration with Love That Design.

The competition was made in line with iGuzzini’s aim to raise awareness in important topics related to the environment and sustainability, to foster the dialogue on good quality lighting, and to empower the future generations of designers with the necessary lighting tools and knowledge. Apart from this, the brand is also aiming to strengthen the local community of designers, architects and students around relevant and educational  initiatives, to support educational organizations and actors in stimulating the knowledge sharing in the industry.

The competition was held in parallel to the Light for Future Global Competition organized by iGuzzini in collaboration with IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers).
