Launching now: Transition by Manganèse Éditions

The architecture of nature transferred to carpet

The Transition collection is borne from a desire to bring the architecture of nature into today’s modern, professional interiors. Directly inspired by nature’s own virtuous, recycling process with seeds transforming into mature, flourishing foliage that eventually will crumble into delicate textures only to become seeds again for a new beginning.

Three designs in multiple levels and natural shades

Irregular textures, layers and structures from outdoors translate into interior designs reflecting key elements of this seasonal cycle: Seed, Leaf and Fibre. The organic tactility and sensuous feeling of these materials is defined by a multi-level loop construction that adds depth and interesting detail to the patterns and colours. The designs are available in an extensive range of soft and faded colours reflecting the hues of nature. They’ve been carefully researched, coordinated and selected in terms of the role they play in facilitating good physical and mental health; greys and browns from the earth provide a soothing, safe and solid ambience, while greens and blues bring new energy, creativity and optimism.

Crafted to suit sustainable interior projects

To trade bad for good, abandoned fishing nets are collected, cleaned and reborn as hardwearing ECONYL® yarn that makes up the carpet construction. The collection actively protects sea life by finding meaningful purpose for drifting nets that account for one tenth of the waste in the ocean. Used plastic bottles are recycled into the patented Ecotrust backing that comes as a standard feature with all tiles from Ege Carpets. An innovative production technique turns the bottles into a soft yet strong felt material with great comfort and acoustic performance.

Transition Mix – an additional design feature

Available in tiles, planks and wall-to-wall, the options for creating one-of-a-kind designs are endless. With Transition Mix tiles in 48×48 cm, the collection offers beautiful colour flows across the floor when combining two or more shades.

Waste isn’t waste until it’s wasted

The Transition collection is made from eco-responsible materials underpinning its close link to nature. Bearing the Cradle to Cradle Certification, it’s a truly green choice for any flooring project.

Ege Carpets turn used plastic bottles into the patented Ecotrust felt backing. Bottles are transformed into a soft yet strong PET felt material that’s long lasting and has great acoustic performance. All carpet tiles and planks come with this unique, patented backing.

Abandoned fishing nets and other industrial waste are used for the ECONYL® yarn that comprises many of the carpet constructions. Fishing nets account for one tenth of waste in the ocean, drifting for months and posing a threat to sea life. Once collected, the fishing nets are cleaned, broken down and reborn as strong, hardwearing yarn that is both regenerated and regenerable.

Ege Carpets challenge industry standards and rethink how aesthetics, quality and sustainability can be combined. Follow The Green Thread and read more about Ege Carpets’ sustainable ambitions and achievements at egecarpets.com.

The three designs: Seed, Leaf and Fibre

The three patterns Seed, Leaf and Fibre are available as carpet tiles, planks or wall-to-wall carpet to help create distinctive and functional spaces that offer flexibility and variability in their expression and performance. The square carpet tile is available in 48×48 cm or 96×96 cm and the rectangular plank comes as 24×96 cm. A great visual toolbox to achieve very different looks depending on the specified size.

The collection comes in a wide palette of contemporary colours from subtle neutrals to more confident tones, carefully coordinated for perfect combinations. It allows experiments with different spatial options that help define areas such as meeting points and quiet or communal zones, as well as catering to social distancing requirements and wayfinding. All Transition designs can be unfolded onto a continuous and unbroken surface when using wall-to-wall carpet, available at a width of 4 metres.

An extra design tool: Transition Mix

The Transition Mix 48×48 cm tiles combine two standard colours to offer an extra design tool, creating beautiful soft fluid flows between two or more colours. They allow for spatial design combinations with organic movement and fluid effects for unique, soft and sensory expressions.

Interior designers have a myriad of options with Mix tiles. For instance by starting with one colour from one end of the room blending into another colour going to the other end. Or by placing the colour transition in the centre of the room, maybe moving from a light tone to a dark tone and back to light. They can even pick three or more standard colours to work with and achieve more colour variation and movement across the floor.
