Like a Sculpture Made of Steel Enamel – Kaldewei Presents the Oyo Duo by Stefan Diez

KALDEWEI is a guest of the “Design Forever” exhibition of Elle Décor Italia at this year’s Fuorisalone from June 7 to 12 in Milan. In the historic building of the Palazzo Bovara, the premium bathroom manufacturer is presenting its new free-standing OYO DUO bathtub, created by designer Stefan Diez, and is thereby presenting the model to the global public for the first time. The official launch is planned for autumn.

OYO DUO is the brand new Key Piece from KALDEWEI’s LUXSTAINABILITY world. The concept combines form and design with sustainability and resource conservation. With this in mind, Stefan Diez created the OYO DUO, a design sculpture made of recyclable steel enamel, which integrates harmoniously into the bathroom and seems almost to float.

Diez was inspired by Japanese porcelain art for the design. The inner shape is the result of KALDEWEI’s many years of experience and, above all, is committed to outstanding sitting comfort and the responsible use of water as a resource. In contrast, the outer, sculptural form exclusively follows the concept of elegance and lightness. The contours of the OYO DUO appear to be a snapshot of a free-flowing form that has just touched the ground, almost seems to be floating and is completely tensed. It is an expression of appreciation for the materials used, the complex manufacturing process and last but not least what is inside it, namely water.

This also fits perfectly into the concept of Elle Décor’s exhibition, which brings together the avant-garde of past icons and the beauty of the icons of the future, and is dedicated to the importance of timeless design.
