Chi Wing Lo

Chi Wing Lo is an internationally renowned architect, designer and artist, born in 1954 and raised in Hong Kong. For more than twenty years he has worked for several world-class Italian manufacturers. His education in architecture began in North America at the architecture faculty of the University of Toronto. Afterwards, he received a Master’s degree from Harvard University, and it was precisely here that his talent began to garner attention in the design world after winning an award for the best thesis in 1988.

This was only the first of the many accolades he has thus far received in his career. The following year in 1989, he opened his own architecture studio in Athens in collaboration with architect Panagiota Davladi. Many innovative projects emerged from this partnership which have been met with great approval, and also presented at the Venice Biennale and the Milan Triennale. In 1994 he began collaborating with the well-known Giorgetti brand and was able to expand and bring to the collection a vision of design, targeting that world which is his birthright: the Orient. In 2014 he began collaborating with the Italian atelier Maroni, an artisanal company and a Made in Italy icon founded in 1965. The Dimensione Chi Wing Lo brand came into being from this partnership which launched on the market a collection of exclusive furniture he designed entirely.

Today, Chi Wing Lo is a leading figure on the global architectural scenario, a professor in America at Syracuse University in New York and a member of the German Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. In 2015 the exceptional quality of his work was also “officially” recognized in his country of origin. In fact, that year he received the prestigious annual award from the DFA World’s Outstanding Chinese Designer which acknowledges the results achieved in his career as a Chinese designer who has established himself worldwide.
