About Hsu-Li Teo and Stefan Kaiser
International couple Hsu-Li Teo and Stefan Kaiser form the Australian architect collective Globalhaus. The German born Stefan Kaiser gained experience in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt as an architect, interior designer, exhibition designer and project site manager. But following his exchange programme in Melbourne, he moved to Australia and started his own design practice in 1998.
Hsu-Li Teo studied architecture in New South Wales and gained experience as an interior designer, signage designer and architect. In 2000, they founded their design studio Globalhaus and their cooperation resulted in the design of Sticks in 2003.
Hsu-Li and Stefan wanted to create a semi-transparent space divider that is easy to install or to move whenever needed. The bases hold the rods and can be combined to meet anyone’s desires. Still, Sticks offer the desired privacy without actually having the look of a wall.
Apart from having a design studio, Hsu-Li Teo also is a visiting lecturer in graphics and communications at the School of Architecture at the University of New South Wales; and in interior architecture at the Faculty of Art and Design at Monash University in Melbourne.
