About the project
Located in Città Studi, a few minutes far from Milan Central Station, in a strategic position easily connected to all the points of interest of the city, the 21 WOL | Way of Living comes with the idea of reinventing the concept of hospitality, offering varied and exclusive experiences, from modern hotel rooms to long-stay hospitality solutions, and even personalised ideas for smart working.
21WOL looks like a hybrid space designed to overcome the closed and traditional hotelier formula, creating a lively and barrier-free community – not your usual hotel but a “work in progress” place of connection, conceptualized in accordance with the changing work sphere. A home away from home that can not only to host travelers and students, but also act as a point of reference to the block and the city. Rizoma Architecture realized the concept of the interior design project, offering 120 rooms for short and long stay, with a total of 157 sleeping places within an area of 5000 square meters. The garden, and the green heart of the residency, extends for more or less 1000 square meters, partially green and partially equipped with seats and tables for an open air life for hotel guests and city dwellers. A triple height hall forms the core, and the connection between the new building and the old one. It is the space where all the activities of the community take place, and also forms the meeting point open into the garden. This space is fluid, like an extension of the public urban space, a flexible, hyperconnected, open community that can offer co-working and studying spaces, places for events and live music concerts.
