About the project
Named after the floor on which it is located, 24TH St. is an Asian eatery in the Dusit Thani, Dubai, inspired by traditional Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Indian street food culture . The client’s brief was to combine four separate outlets to create a holistic marketplace in which each can operate both independently and collaboratively. Creneau International designed the restaurant in collaboration with Bond Interiors, while DTA Cost Control Risk Management Services executed the project management.
The entrance to the restaurant has an Asian street market resemblance albeit with an elegant feel, and this is evident in the details from the tableware to the use of the material palette. The central structure of the atrium serves as a multifunctional space with a bakery, juice bar, dessert station, seating area and break-out space, offering a mix of glossy materials and greenery. Live cooking stations also showcase cultural influences from their country of origin. Guests can journey through a myriad of bold flavours and spices served from Kim’s Korean, Lucy Wong’s, Momo San and Chatakana. A notable design feature of the restaurant is the transformative feeling of the space, where the atmosphere and experience adjusts based on the time of day.
