About the project
Aila Restaurant reflects the vibrancy and shifting energy of Istanbul. Designed by Wilson Associates, the interiors features rich, warm wood tones and spectrum of spices on display. Traditionally patterned Turkish blue tiles with a mirrored frame accentuate the local flavor of the space. White marble tile and wood tones combine to create a casual yet dynamic environment.
The Raki bar and cellar slightly differs from the dinning room by providing a relaxed vibe. Large arched openings generate a feeling of grandeur while referencing the famous Haydarpasa Railway Station. The adjacent 2nd dining room has a darker and moodier aesthetic to reflect nightfall in Istanbul. A bright gold mosaic referencing the legendary Hagia Sophia interrupts the dark mood to create a carefully balanced contrast.
