About the project
At the Akyapi Offices in Istanbul, Gönye Proje Tasarım Architects aimed to create a work environment that centered around comfort and functionality. The offices are styled with modern and dynamic design elements to maximise efficiency at the workplace, without compromising on the contemporary theme of the interiors.
To add texture and variety, the designers used concrete and leather panels for the vertical surfaces in the waiting lounges. Glass partitions and ceilings allow for natural light to enter, while motor driven curtain systems help control the abundant sunlight. The glass ceilings are supported by steel beams and columns, layered with wood siding and black lace, to create contrast. Furthermore, all lounge areas are fitted with painted glass to deepen that contract and maintain the overall architectural theme.
Custom designed city maps adorn the walls of the cafeteria in the office, giving the place a dynamic and eclectic vibe. Colourful tiles and sofa fabrics in vivid tones add to that vibe, providing a relaxing environment . Wooden panels, natural stone and Volacas marble have been used on counter surfaces to amplify the structural elegance of the workspaces.
