About the project
HBA was tasked with setting a new benchmark for the Curio brand, while also respecting the culture and design of their target market.
Al Rayyan Hotel is connected to the landmark Mall of Qatar and celebrates the art of shopping as an extension of the retail experience, with an infusion of Qatari heritage. A three dimensional backdrop commands your attention upon entry of the lobby, illuminated by a skylight above. The 40-meter-high geometric patterned screen, inspired by rich Arabic motifs, casts playful patterns on surrounding surfaces.
