About the project
Cambridge Design + Build was tasked with City Makers’ headquarters, a subsidiary of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai.
Located at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai, the space needed to reflect not only its locality, but also the UAE’s heritage and values. Based in a warehouse with a mezzanine level, the design elements included an adaptable auditorium with modern fragmented hanging tube lights and huge graffiti poems from His Highness. Dedicated work and collaborative spaces filled the interior with an integrated reception area and a six-metre-high digital video wall.
The colour palette consisted of mainly beige and white to give a light and airy atmosphere, while modern soft furnishings with vinyl flooring and carpets were used throughout, dotted with an array of coloured lamps. The industrial themed space also includes a café and juice bar with furniture that reflects the same vibe and quirky signages, planters and notable display units all around.
