About the project
This large scale restoration project at Costa Adeje Suites was a great challenge and opportunity for Alfaro-Manrique due to the magnitude of this building located in the best area of Tenerife, to be able to carry out a great repositioning of the brand by generating a new concept which would help it evolve into a new category.
The design and concept created around the Costa Adeje Suites Hotel is based on its tropical surroundings, its relationship with the location, the strength of the Tenerife coast. The vegetation on site is a key point to the design; green colours from the plants which blend to a blue palette related to the ocean, confronted towards tones which come from the Canary terrain such as grey scales from the sand and ochre and earthy tones from the rocks.
Alfaro-Manrique uses a design related to the natural Canary landscape, with its colour range, its strength and scale of the natural surroundings, to create and conceive a concept of limit between land and ocean. The huge volumetrics that creates the geometry of the building, with the characteristic of open corridors, is emphasized with the use of colour by using a plain whites on the facades and grey tones in the surroundings.
The rooms, all of them suites, are closed away from public access, giving it a more personal and private touch. Nevertheless, we will see the relationship between the interior and exterior throughout the use of vegetation on the terraces, offering the user a space of calmness and comfort. The furniture used throughout the project, is mainly designed by Alfaro-Manrique Atelier, except for the chairs, armchairs, and exterior furniture for the pools.
