DAVE Red Athens by Brown Hotels is the first property from the international hotel group’s affordable hotel line “DAVE – Son of a Brown”, to launch outside of Tel Aviv, following the popular DAVE Gordon, DAVE Levinsky and DAVE Downtown in Tel Aviv. Situated on Omonia Square just a stone’s throw away from the recently opened Brown Acropol, DAVE Red Athens ushers in a new wave of hospitality to the square, breathing fresh, young energy into the revamped area with fun and budget-friendly accommodation.

Staying true to the DAVE signature style, the new 87-room hotel presents the sub-brand’s distinguishable, punchy decor and fiery red branding. Led by K-Studios, the Greek design firm behind the renowned JMK Airport and Scorpios in Mykonos, DAVE Red Athens boasts a design concept that merges an industrial style decor with retro references, manifesting a defiantly playful atmosphere. The hotel lobby is furnished with original vintage pieces and memorabilia from the 1970’s sourced from flea markets, signature Brown Hotels library, popcorn machine and fully-stocked beer fridge. Each of the 87 rooms features exposed pipes, bare concrete walls, marble top surfaces and oak wood furnishings, finished nostalgic gadgets like vinyl players with original records and vintage rotary telephones, all paying homage to the era.

The building formerly served as the KKE (Communist Party of Greece) headquarters, which is honored beautifully through a wall mural at the entrance of the hotel’s mezzanine area giving guests a deeper understanding of the property’s profound history. Presenting an adults’ playground, the mezzanine features a bar, pool tables, original Nintendo and Packman consoles, arcade machine, adjoining meeting room with blackboard walls and an intimate balcony with hammocks to relax in and soak up the city’s energy.
