About the project
Another office in the Dubai Design District showcases interiors that aim to wow us. This is the Dewan Architects and Engineers offices in Building 5 at d3, and in keeping with its design trendy neighbours, the interiors here are equally unique.
Designed in house by Dewan, the office plans were developed to target coworking and interaction within the different departments. Workstations were placed in a manner where team members would face each other, and the various departments were separated by square, grid-like shelving. They also help in creating informal breakout areas and facilitate short meetings and discussions, yet keep a visual connection throughout the space.
The materials used also contribute to the relaxed attitude much needed for creative process to flow. There is extensive use of greenery and disentangled concrete that converts into faux moss on the walls, and quirky decor adds a sense of whimsy (i.e. swings on rope and hanging upside down woven baskets for lampshades).
The fitout was carried out by Arki Group & Flying Elephant Events, and most of the furniture and furnishings were custom designed in house.
