About the project
AndNow were awarded the task of renovating an existing of Talise Spa, Jumeirah Al Qasr into a new contemporary and fresh aesthetic which aligned perfectly with the clinic’s own vision. The project was divided into two stages with the first stage including a complete re-design of an exiting yoga studio into four new specialised treatment rooms plus a relaxation room, consultation room, office and nurse’s room. The second phase was a complete renovation of the existing medical reception, which originally had replicated the traditional design aesthetic associated with the adjacent and well renowned Talise Spa.
The main design vision was to create a clinical ‘white’ backdrop which was accentuated with natural materials, including bleached oak timber slats and artificial planting. Space planning was developed using a ‘positive/negative’, three-dimensional zonal block format, which is noticeable as the main welcoming factor upon entering the space, through male and female waiting areas on each side of the white central reception area plus a vertical element finished identically within the existing sky light space. Complimenting the fresh and natural clean lines within the space, modern technologies were introduced, including two 3 metre high, LED walls that depict a ‘rainforest’ show reel, which is cleverly linked to the lighting automation system and sound system within the space. This, together with intermittent fragrances introduced into the space, provides the guest with the ultimate experience of peace and tranquility within this natural wellness environment.
