About the project
Located in Jumeirah, this speciality coffee shop was designed by Omar Ghafour of L.S. Design with the fitout executed by Grand Signature
At the heart of the coffee shop – the roasting kettle – imported, organic coffee beans are roasted daily and used in nine different brewing techniques. The accessories and appliances used for brewing are positioned in different stations around the perimeter counter, allowing staff to engage the customers in conversation and explain the different brewing processes. Directly in front of the roasting station is a column, a prominent feature of the space, which wraps both the serving counter and menu board.
Material finishes are kept raw with warm, oiled woods and cement finished walls as the main palette. The design is minimal and open with warm and cool materials, shadow grooves for hidden lights, and culturally significant seating – contemporary style juxtaposed with majlis booths – serving both locals and expats, and creating a relaxed social experience.
