Ecuador Pavilion at Milan Expo

The design objective was to highlight the pavilion among those around it thanks to its façade, creating an emotional connection with the traditional and unique elements of the Latin American country. The graphic designs of the fabrics from the Otavalo region were adapted and updated to achieve this. Kriskadecor’s anodized aluminum facade cladding is divided into four faces with an average height of 9 meters, reaching 10.5 meters at certain points. The north and south faces are 25.4 meters wide and the eastern and western faces are 15 meters long each. 

This large metallic structure is possible thanks to the lightness of the material. Plus, sunlight and planned lighting down to the smallest details enhance the final effect. The range of colors used represents the colorful regions of the country, its population, landscape, crafts, ethnic groups, gastronomy and cultural expressions, which are also summarized in its logo and its motto Ecuador Ama La Vida. Zorrozua and Associates, design consultants with extensive experience in various sectors, have carried out the design and management of the pavilion project.
