Designed by Scott Brownrigg and developed by KPS, the interiors of the Expedia Group Office in Dubai are steeped in Arabian cultural references. Mashrabiya patterns and partitions feature throughout the spaces, tying the design theme, and warm tones, with plenty of gold and burgundy, reflect the richness of the regional heritage. Despite these traditional elements, the overall appearance still maintains a contemporary feel, with modern furniture, materials, and flooring juxtaposed against Arabian carpets, decorative motifs and more. The bar/pantry area, in particular, hosts a beautiful balance of the two design extremes, with sleek bar stools in chrome, albeit with mashrabiya patterned fabric. Lounge chairs placed not far reflect a similar design sensibility.
These offices clearly embody the majlis concept with a modern twist, cleverly accommodating its traditional references into a contemporary interior design.
