Gifto's Of London, Dubai

Gifto’s Lahore Karahi, a family store and restaurant founded in 1968 in Southall London, opened their first international branch, Gifto’s of London at Dubai Marina. Designed by VS Design Studio, the central concept of design was to showcase the heritage and food of the client’s culture. Wooden slatted surface,bronze mirrors, etched patterns, polished copper tandoors, are some of the key elements that make Gifto’s of London a warm and glamorous dining experience. Brass metal chains form private dining booths, while the dining area is lined with patterned wallpaper.

VS Design Studio aimed to translate the fine, rich and distinct flavours of an Indo-Pak cuisine into a stylish yet familiar dining ambiance.  The linear banquet seating along the length of the restaurant creates a barcode-like slatted pattern with the use of varied-stain walnut veneer along the wall. In order to maintain a clutter free design, luminaries, speakers and fire fighting provisions were streamlined into linear coves. Warm finishes and strategic mirror cladding highlight the depth of restaurant creating an inviting atmosphere. The porcelain floor imitating a traditional terrazzo pattern laid against the wall tile of live kitchen contrasts with each other, bringing a dynamic element to the design. Laser etched pattern on the canopy light box is custom designed to the brand.
