About the project
Interior designed by MMA Projects, the Grand Hotel Campione, located in the Campione d´Italia enclave features large balconies overlooking the beautiful Lake Lugano. The refurbishment included renovation of the facades and the extension of an additional floor. Most of the design elements were custom made and involved authentic Italian craftsmanship
The spaces were designed to be warm and luxurious, and welcoming to guests. Each element, from furniture to lights, was custom designed for that specific area. Stones cut like a beautiful parquet, warm and staved woods, details in bronze and warm textiles, beautified the entrance way. The rooms included plush carpeting, crafted furniture, and unique finishes decorated with art. A sense of brightness pervades thanks to large windows and the glass walls that divide the bathrooms from the night area, elegantly and discreetly. Plus, glass parapets on the top floor suites offer uninterrupted lake view from within the interior.
The facade restyling takes its cue from this concept too, with a series of light vertical elements made with a micro-perforated mesh that allow correct lighting and, at the same time, the necessary shading .
The new spa was built on the hill behind the hotel, and sports entirely different design characteristics without affecting the hotels overall aeesthetic. The area constitutes a swimming pool, a sauna, a Turkish bath, and a massage and fitness area.
