Design & Build Contractors:

About the project

Grant Thornton is a leading business adviser that helps dynamic organisations to unlock their potential for growth.

Spencer Interiors & Contracting partnership with Grant Thornton started 9 years ago when they worked side by side to build their office in Rolex Towers. As they continue to grow, expand their services, and adapt to the new normal, they once again sought their help to create their new home in The Offices 5, One Central. They wanted a flexible and activity-based workspace to give their employees an inspiration and form of energy to work professionally and collaboratively.

Designing Grant Thornton’s new office with task-specific zones was vital to the success of its open space. The aim was to divide it into 4 zones –the Client area, the Employee Area, the Partner hub, and the Barista. These areas were segregated with a nice flow and different ambiance, but their overall look have the same core concept.

The Client Area is comprised of the main reception, meeting rooms, and majlis. Light wooden tones, Italian Marble, clean lines, and subtle earthy-toned finishes were used to achieve a warm and welcoming high-end space inspired by “Modern Zen”. For the Employee Area, the idea was to create an environment that is flexible, mobile, and energizing for employees. To make this happen, desk and room booking systems were set up throughout the space. Branding and work culture were also highlighted and multiple styles of desks were added, making the space collaborative and flexible.

The Partner Hub was designed to be more private as it was dedicated to its partners. It has comfortable work desks, meeting rooms, and a coffee nook. The Barista was created with a colorful, vibrant, and fun café look with different types of seating meant for work, collaboration, coffee, and food consumption. Their team used a combination of Grant Thornton’s secondary colors with wood and colorful patterns to achieve a cozy café ambiance.

Shaping the dynamics, décor, and infrastructure of an office is important to reflect the theme, values, culture, and brand of the organization. In the same way, Grant Thornton’s branding inspired our team to use circular and bright purple color hints in the whole space. They relocated existing furniture from their old office and worked around it to fit the design. Value engineering was also done to fit out without losing the design intent. Some of the highlights of our work were the Interface LVT flooring, Marble cladding, Acrylic backlit Reception backdrop, Patterned Carpets and tiles, Funky collaborative furniture, Wooden doors, and Cladding.
