About the project
Located in DIP, the interiors of this SBID designed Hira Industries office is consistent with the brand’s other branches. Following the core story of making the ‘invisible visible’, the design exposes the beauty of the typically unseen infrastructure of MEP, placing Hira’s raw products at the forefront of the design. The two-story office caters to the needs of its staff by combining functional, efficient, and visually pleasing aspects together in order to build a warm and welcoming atmosphere infused with fun, sophisticated elements. The centrepiece lighting fixture, for example, features a unique branding opportunity.
Wooden slats are meticulously arranged atop the staircase, encased between two large slats of glass, effectively creating a framed illusion. Integrated nooks, collaborative zones, private phone booths, a coffee bar, and an executive lounge fully dressed with eclectic furnishing and foosball tables create a multi-functional environment and allow for flexible workspaces.
The designers maintained continuity by retaining an industrial loft aesthetic and touching it up with a more luxurious palette of warm walnut woods, oranges, and deep blues. Rather than creating display cases for Hira products, as was done in prior designs, the products are subtly embedded amongst natural raw materials and highlighted. Specially manufactured duct insulations and Hira’s acoustic paddings are playfully installed throughout, managing the noise control within the an open ceiling environment.
