About the project
Ashrafieh, one of Beirut’s oldest neighborhoods, hosts Rabih Geha Architects’ latest project titled Images d’Orient, a home décor retail brand inspired by Middle East and Mediterranean culture.
The flagship store has a dual purpose, it functions as a display and creation centre. The interior design is characterised by a facade of successive arched windows, brushed stainless steel shelves with brass detailing, and modular lights with aluminum glossy reflectors. The colour palette features hues reminiscent of Mediterranean architypes, with grey Aggloceppo terrazzo flooring, blue arched openings, white walls and a vibrant red ceiling that matches the central display table. Beyond the internal arches that also serve as a display gallery, lies a narrow passage with an undulating and perforated steel mesh that showcases Images d’Orient products and unique pieces. The space also serves as a creative launch pad for new collections.
