And Now… Concept Creation were awarded the task of creating a unique Korean Hybrid Spa/ Salon concept at the which was multi-functional, and would become a bench mark venue for the future of Wellness Facilities. Located in Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments, Dubai CitySpace undertook the contracting work while the project was managed by fifty2 Consult.

The first of its kind in the region, inspiration was derived from the Colour Block Districts and neon illuminated streets of Seoul. The layout of the facility was developed in line with this strategy in the form of ‘Treatment Pods’ linked by open grid ceiling walkways displaying Korean inspired street art with neon ‘Selfie Points’ located at key intersections.

The main design challenge was to maximize the number of treatments available across the entirety of this relatively small space without compromising the privacy or segregation of treatment areas. By incorporating a clever access control system and ambient automation settings, an environment was created in which individual treatment areas could be used by either male or female guests based on requirements. By operating a simple pre-programmed touch screen setting, the aesthetic of the treatment room or area can be altered to match either the male or female general areas respectively.
