About the project
MustDash was established in 2017 with a vision to create a grooming brand that is luxurious, bespoke yet affordable. After winning numerous awards in Dubai over the years, with rapid growth, the founders decided to relocate to the lively and bustling new DoubleTree by Hilton in Bur Dubai. Designers Kamsin Mirchandani and Grishma Shetty of The Trouvaille Studio developed a unique identity for the brand, in line with the client’s vision for a modern, industrial, masculine vibe.
The 1,500 square foot space consists of a reception and coffee bar, 6 barber stations, a mani pedi area, wax room, washroom, office, pantry and storage. The existing brand design had a very prominent shade of teal blue, which was to be part of its identity. Customers are greeted by a central reception pod that also doubles up as a coffee bar, displaying a bespoke selection of coffee beans made specifically for the shop. The designers developed the interior with the use of materials, such as wood, terrazzo, matt PU paint, and powder coated metal. The raw open ceiling style is contrasted with the polished terrazzo and luxurious, high-end leather of the furniture. The clean straight lines of the LED lighting is paired with the gentle curved forms of the reception, the mirrors and the flooring. Instagrammable moments were taken into account, and the space was designed to create the best photo opportunities.
