About the project
Designer of BALCON studio, Ekaterina Astapova, has created cozy modern interior, where luxurious decoration plays a leading role.
The client, who works in the modeling business mentioned to love details, travel a lot and likes to spend time with family and friends. She wanted a space with luxurious finishes and pieces of furniture, but at the same time cozy, with a sense of home. She also took an interest in the presence of reflective surfaces and contrasting details, which is visible all throughout the project.
The kitchen-living room is the main room in the apartment. It was important for the customer to see in it not only a cozy and functional, but also a glamorous space with an abundance of reflective surfaces and contrasting details. “”An important element of the interior was a large built-in aquarium. The most difficult thing was to find a suitable contractor. The countertop of the work area is made of Technistone quartz stone, and the island countertop is made of Caesarstone quartzite.
The designer of the project took cream-chocolate shades as a basis, and used paint, soft velour panels, American walnut veneer boiserie, mirrors, porcelain stoneware, tinted glass and black graphic elements in the decoration. “”Facades made of wood, in turn, create a spectacular contrast with light walls,”” — Ekaterina Astapova notes.
Cardinal remodeling was not required — the original zoning was quite satisfactory. “”We just enlarged the dressing room, combined two proposed bathrooms into one large and divided the apartment into two zones: public and private. The kitchen area located in the living room was visually hidden in a niche specially equipped for this purpose. The bathroom has everything you need and even more: toilet, bidet, sink, freestanding bathtub, shower and mini laundry room with storage system.
Almost all the furniture is made according to the sketches of the studio, the base of the furniture is brass or wood, supporting the modern style of the interior. The lamps are also selected in the same way. In the walk-through areas, kitchen-living room and bedroom, the main lighting is created due to technical light located in niches and overhead lamps. In addition, the apartment has extensive lighting, which adds geometry to the space. Chandeliers and sconces act as decorative lighting.
