About the project
Located on the beautiful beach of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and offering dramatic sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the Nobu Hotel is the first ground-up hotel for the brand that merges local and Japanese culture to create a luxury experience in a casual setting. Due to strong currents prohibiting swimming in ocean, water features were introduced throughout the hotel for guests to enjoy the panoramic views and float away to the sound of the ocean waves while relaxing in the pool and spa.
The architecture of the resort is based on marrying contemporary interpretation of Japanese and local Cabo San Lucas, Mexico style. The first entryway leads you through a serene, Japanese inspired courtyard to the front door, that offers a beautifully framed, ocean view. Contemporary clean lines are used as design inspiration throughout to create a fresh, open and minimal appeal, and sophisticated materials, such as light wood, polished granite, black marble and limestone are used on the surfaces to offset the minimalism.
