About the project
Designed by Allen Architecture Interiors Design (AAID), the Publicis Media offices have an open plan concept with a free flowing layout, which is further divided into separate departments, with each agency in its own private entity. Lighting and seating are key elements of the design, with ergonomic furniture for overall well being and glass partitioned cabins that provide privacy yet create an open, airy feel. A mix of exposed ceilings and overhead light panels are visible throughout, with decorative ceiling lights in the lobby and cabins, and an eye-catching design panel in the pantry. Furthermore, cushioned wall panels and graphics have been incorporated in certain areas, and a blend of carpets and wood flooring run through the office with vibrant colours differentiating the various spaces.
Publicis Media is a conglomerate that has many agencies under its umbrella which include Starcom, Procter & Gamble, Zenith, Perfomics & Spark Foundry. The employee demographic varies between young creatives, head executives and support staff. Publicis Media Headquarters decided to consolidate and merge all their existing media agencies under one roof. The new office, located in Media City, houses a total of 360 occupants. The architectural envelope of the building has an irregular u-shape which consequently subdivides the interior floor space into three individual wings. Full height glass façade allows maximum flow of natural light throughout the office.
With collaboration and flexibility at the forefront, AAID created a work environment that fosters a sense of community to encourage transparency, creativity and innovation. The overall design evokes a sense of fluidity, vibrance, and incorporates organic forms. Curved glass was introduced to highlight colourful think tanks within the central part of the open plan. A centrally located cafe provides opportunities for socialising, relaxing, and for informal meetings. The personality of each agency is emphasised by the use of colour through architectural finishes and textures. Innovative technology is integrated throughout all spaces to give staff the agility and choice of where and how to work.
The project was managed by KPS in collaboration with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) as Cost Management Consultants.
