About the project
The SAP HQ, Dubai, is located in the popular Butterfly Building in Dubai Internet City. The headquarters is spread over four floors. One of the floors is mixed use with half a floor used as kitchen, café and dining area while the other half is used as office space and meeting rooms. The other floor has a variety of meetings rooms, boardrooms, prayer rooms and an experience centre. The rest of the floors are utilized as general office space.
With ‘Diversity’ as the driving force; the office interiors were designed, by Interior Architects and LXA, to be a vibrant and collaborative work environment. The office interiors diversify conventional workplace norms with a blend of hospitality, rendered by the sprawling restaurant. Country-themed meeting rooms act as the stimuli to the varied roots of the SAP MENA staff. Interior fit-out requirements were taken care by ATS.
The interior design celebrates a multitude of colours, uplifting the nominal office feel. It detracts from conformist office corridors through articulate attention to detail. Some of the major highlights of the project included the use of gypsum and glazed partitions, acoustic ceilings, movable partitions, joinery and floor finishes.
Wall and ceiling finishes included paint, tiling, glass partition, laminates, veneer, back-painted glass and wallpaper. Floor finishes included carpets, illuminated carpet, vinyl and tiling. Joinery works included fixed furniture, like seating, including fabric installations, counters, cabinets, reception counters, wooden wall panelling and featured ceilings.
