About the project
SAP Turkey’s new head offices mimc a living space with its comfortable and flexible style.
Designed by Mimarstudio, the interiors are environmentally friendly and sustainable. Green, natural materials accommodate biophilic design with pops of bold colour added. The client desired a workspace that would allow employees to be physically and mentally healthy and happy, while being highly productive. Thus, an interactive environment was fashioned taking corporate well-being standards into consideration. Some of the criteria included getting employees to work under maximum natural light, clean air, and optimal thermal and acoustic comfort. Additionally, desks as well as cross-sectional working flexibility was considered in light of an activity-based working approach. This included giving priority to ergonomics and preference to new and innovative products.
Among the project’s more eye-catching sections are its relaxing lounges as well as its many meeting and training rooms with various sizes and functions.
Acoustic comfort throughout the open plan and closed working spaces was a top priority during the design phase. Materials were selected based on their suitability— wall details and double-glazed glass dividers to block sound from passing between rooms, to taking precautions with the volume of acoustics in the rest of the interiors.
The designers also customised and planned the lighting design in a geometric nature with an array of forms, dimensions and materials. Linear and point light sources integrated into acoustic gypsum panels, and special acoustic plates alongside decorative acoustic lighting products were also used.
