About the project
Situated at the ‘bow’ of the Dubai Opera building, Sean Connolly offers stunning views of the Burj Khalifa, and is a gastronome’s delight, offering a variety of luxury dining experiences, such as a raw bar, fire bar and brasserie. The interiors, created by Alexander &CO, reflect the owner’s love of seafood.
A maritime theme continues throughout with blue and green tones speckled with pearlescent hues, reminiscent of shimmering corals. The design is centred around the Pearl Bar, where grey leather, walnut timber and yellow marble create contrast and add excitement to the overall aesthetic.
The design also pays tribute to Australian artists Tracey Deep and Jacqui Fink by incorporating their unique pieces into the interior. In keeping with the antipodean theme, Fink has created a six metre high Merino Wool hanging artwork to emulate the tentacles of mythical sea creatures. Simultaneously, Deep accentuated the theme of the setting with three hanging sculptures made from native flora.
Custom designed carpeting by Alexander &CO continues the sea theme, while lighting in white steel and brass finish unifies the overall flow of design.
