About the project

H2R Design have revealed the design features behind their latest F&B project, the opening of the second branch of Shaziz, an exciting, bold & energetic shawarma restaurant based in Riyadh.

With the brief to elevate and refine from the first branch, H2R carefully refined the color scheme by reducing the amount of variety of colors, devised ways to make the space more operationally friendly, whilst ensuring that the fast yet semi-fine dining restaurant still retained the brands vibrancy, and of course, love for both Shawarmas and Gyros.

Welcomed by a tile pattern floor, which reflects the complex layers of the food being served, Shaziz has been designed to bring families and friends together to enjoy a fun and interactive experience, with neon signage throughout, interactive graphics and insta-worthy spots, including ‘conversation starter’ placards on the entrance wall.

A live feed of posts, stories and comments from the restaurants social media accounts is displayed on the wall, whilst a variety of seating choices such as communal booths and banquettes, allows customers to be enjoy the space whether it be alone, in families, or in groups.

The selection of materials such as metal meshes, ribbed glass, geometric tile patterns, bring about an industrial inspired factory feel, acting as the perfect canvas for vibrancy that the pops of colour naturally bring; whilst the use of plywood adds familiarity from the first branch, a material purposely chosen for its rawness that proudly reflects the origins a home-grown concept.

Placing guests at the heart of the experience, the food preparation area has been purposely exposed and made visible to customers to indulge in the unique creation process, an authentic feast for all the senses.
