About the project
The client, Skanska, was a Swedish real estate developer with a presence in the Hungarian market for 25 years. One of their top priorities during concept stages was to make an environment for their employees that would be caring nourishing. And it was this philosophy that resulted in an all access rule for work spaces and stations – employees could walk in each morning and select literally any workstation, based on what most suited their task for the day.
Since Skanska desired an activity based model, enhancing communication, creativity and co-working, designers LAB5 created an open, free flowing space that bordered on minimal and playful. Breakout spaces were interspersed with cubicles, and a variety of seating areas, all set against a muted grey canvas. Carpeted flooring and clever use of baffles helped to control the acoustics against a high, exposed ceiling.
