About the project
SodaStream is an Israeli company, operating in 42 countries worldwide. Their leading values include recycling, ecology and protecting the environment, and designers Gindi Studio were requested to embed these values in the design.
The concept of an environmental revolution, relying on the company’s five central principles, led to an extensive use of recycled materials within the design, which allowed for a truly innovative, one-of-a-kind design. Some of the elements included lighting fixtures designed with waste leftovers, and a conference room wall comprised of a plastic bottle disposal container (the bottles were collected by the company on a beach cleanup in Honduras and flown to Israel especially for the project). A concrete floor and birchwood panelling contributed to a raw natural look.
The second inspiration was based on creating spaces for encounters between intersectional company programs, termed as ‘bubbles’. Each bubble was designed differently to create interest throughout the project and link individuals from different departments. The creation and design of every bubble used machine pieces and SodaStream bottles that have gone through an ‘upscaling’ process and emerged as materials that made every bubble unique.
