About the project
Symantec Corporation is renowned for delivering trustworthy security and software solutions to its customers. Headquartered in California, United States, Symantec has evolved to one of the world’s largest software companies employing more than 20,000 staff worldwide.
Symantec has occupied its existing office space for over 8 years in Dubai, and with the recent growth in the company, new premises were required to accommodate future staff growth. The project featured a new reception area, video conferencing facilities to ensure seamless communication on an international scale with other Symantec offices, closed offices and telephone rooms offering private working areas. In addition, a number of breakout areas and team meeting rooms to promote collaboration in the workspace, plus a large training facility to accommodate internal staff development.
The project also encompassed special features to give Symantec’s offices a unique look and feel with the suspended ceiling in the reception area, and custom made pieces such as joinery and a custom made rug. Summertown Interiors was appointed to execute the fit out, and along with leading international architects Gensler and project management firm Cushman and Wakefield ensured that the high-quality standards were met inline with Symantec’s global guidelines whilst meeting requirements to suit Symantec’s needs locally. High-end materials were specified for the project and Summertown’s own sustainability standards during construction were followed closely in terms of waste management and site works.
MEP specialist Wallace Whittle was also appointed to ensure Symantec’s power and cooling requirements were met and security features for building access and CCTV monitoring were incorporated
