About the project
Broadway Interiors were asked by Talabat, the largest online food ordering service in the Middle East, to design their new management floor for their expanding operation. The directive required taking into consideration the design and branding of their existing office, and incorporating a more corporate, sophisticated look while simultaneously introducing elements of a restaurant interior.
Right from the start, at the reception, the branding colours have been introduced in an unusual way. A wall feature is created using driver crash helmets placed on the wall in a matrix akin to noughts and crosses, along with a vintage orange scooter, which is the mode of transport for Talabat’s delivery drivers. A faux ‘road’ provides a walkway around the entire floor, and markings in white paint and orange carpet tiles represent a branded zebra crossing. The bespoke reception desk was created from timber offcuts and scaffold boards. The brickwork behind the space has been whitewashed and aged to highlight the Talabat signage and add to the urban feel. Quirkiness and fun elements have been added via walls painted in the brand’s colours, and clever scooter-style seating, providing some rest areas yet remaining a constant reminder of the core business.
