About the project
Inspired by seasons and earthly elements, Creneau International designed and built the Tero restaurant in Brussels, with the four seasons entwined around a central column that houses the wine cellar. As guests walk past, the imagery on it changes to reflect the various seasons. A mood board with inspirational keywords also illustrates Tero’s ideology. Based on the concept of connecting all the spaces, the design flows in concentric circles, surrounding the central pillar and providing a blueprint for all the technical elements in the ceiling, including the custom made luminaires.
A central bar serves as the main focus with different layers and colours of concrete signifying the layers of the earth, and is based at two different levels. The lower section of the bar forms the foundation and is also the finishing of the lower cabinets. The terrazzo, quartz based floor provides a natural link to the earth while the ceiling is transformed into the cosmos, and roughly cut pieces of felt are layered on the walls to optimise acoustics.
